What's inside
"Lipotropic" describes nutrients involved in how the body processes and moves fat, especially in the liver. MIC + B12 combines four of them in one injection.
Methionine
An essential amino acid your body can't make on its own. It helps the liver process fats and is a building block for glutathione, a natural antioxidant.
Inositol
A vitamin-like compound involved in insulin signaling and fat metabolism inside your cells.
Choline
A nutrient the liver uses to package and move fat out. Many adults don't get enough choline from food alone.
Vitamin B12
Helps your body turn food into energy and make healthy red blood cells. Low B12 is a common cause of fatigue.
Pairs well with GLP-1 care.
GLP-1 medications like tirzepatide and semaglutide reduce appetite, so many patients eat much less than before. MIC + B12 is a simple add-on that helps fill in some of the nutrients that support energy and metabolism while you do.
Explore GLP-1 weight-loss care- Supports energy when you're eating less, especially if your B12 runs low
- Supports healthy liver fat metabolism with methionine, inositol and choline
- Fits right into your routine as an at-home injection
- Reviewed by your provider alongside your GLP-1 plan and other medications
MIC + B12 is not a weight-loss medication and does not cause weight loss on its own. Research on lipotropic injections for weight loss is limited. It works best as part of a plan that includes nutrition, activity and, if appropriate, a GLP-1.
Is it right for you?
Your provider makes the final call after reviewing your health history.
It may be a fit if you
- Are on, or starting, a GLP-1 weight-loss program
- Want extra support for energy while eating less
- Follow a diet that's low in B12 sources, such as vegetarian or vegan

Talk to your provider first if you

Common questions
What is a lipotropic (MIC) + B12 injection?
It's a compounded injection that combines methionine, inositol and choline (MIC) with vitamin B12. These nutrients play roles in how the liver processes fat and how the body makes energy. It's prescribed by a licensed provider and prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy.
Will MIC + B12 make me lose weight?
Not on its own. MIC + B12 isn't a weight-loss medication, and there's limited clinical research on lipotropic injections for weight loss. It's used to support energy and healthy metabolism alongside a weight-management plan that includes nutrition and activity, and for some patients a GLP-1 medication.
Can I take it with tirzepatide or semaglutide?
Many patients use MIC + B12 alongside GLP-1 care. Your provider will review your health history and current medications and decide whether adding it is appropriate for you.
How is it taken?
It's an injection under the skin that you give yourself at home. Your provider and pharmacy include instructions with your order, and our care team is available if you have questions.
Is compounded MIC + B12 FDA-approved?
No. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient and are not FDA-approved. The FDA does not review compounded medications for safety, effectiveness or quality.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. It requires an online evaluation and a prescription from a licensed provider. Your card isn't charged until you're approved, and not everyone is approved.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime from your patient portal. Month-to-month plans renew monthly; 3-month plans renew every 3 months. See our Terms for the full cancellation and refund policy.
Important Safety Information
Who should not use it
Do not use MIC + B12 if you are allergic to vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin), cobalt, methionine, inositol, choline or any other ingredient. Cyanocobalamin should not be used by people with early Leber's disease.
