Questions

What does my plan include?

Your provider evaluation, compounded PT-141 for the plan length and shipping are all included in the price shown.

What is PT-141?

PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a peptide that acts on melanocortin receptors in the brain. A brand-name version is FDA-approved for low sexual desire (hypoactive sexual desire disorder) in premenopausal women. Compounded PT-141 is not FDA-approved.

Who is it for?

PT-141 may be prescribed to eligible women after a medical evaluation. A licensed provider reviews your health history and decides whether it is appropriate. Not everyone is approved.

How is it taken?

PT-141 is given as an injection under the skin before anticipated sexual activity, following your provider's instructions on timing and how often you can use it.

Can I cancel? What is your refund policy?

Cancel anytime. There are no cancellation fees; cancel anytime from your patient portal at portal.vevarx.com. Your card isn't charged until a licensed provider approves your treatment, so if you cancel before approval, or aren't approved, you won't be charged.

Month-to-month plans renew every month. Cancel at least 5 days before your next renewal date to avoid the next charge. 3-month plans are billed every 3 months; cancelling stops your next renewal, and you keep your current plan through the period you've paid for.

Refunds. Compounded medications are prepared specifically for you and can't be returned once dispensed, so orders already sent to the pharmacy or shipped aren't refundable. If you cancel after approval but before your order goes to the pharmacy, you'll be refunded minus a $25 provider consultation fee. If your medication arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we'll work with the pharmacy to make it right.

Important Safety Information

This information applies to compounded PT-141 (bremelanotide). It is a summary and does not include everything you need to know. Talk with your provider about your medical history and all medicines you take before starting treatment.

Do not use if you:

  • Have high blood pressure that is not controlled, or have heart disease
  • Have had an allergic reaction to bremelanotide or any ingredient in the medication
  • Are pregnant. Stop use and contact your provider if you become pregnant.

Possible serious side effects

  • Temporary increase in blood pressure and decrease in heart rate: these can happen after each dose and usually return to normal within 12 hours.
  • Darkening of the skin (focal hyperpigmentation), including on the face, gums and breasts, which may not go away after stopping. It is more likely with use on many days in a row.
  • Nausea, which can be severe, especially with the first doses.
  • Serious allergic reactions: stop use and get emergency help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, trouble breathing, or severe rash.

Most common side effects

Nausea, flushing, injection-site reactions, headache and vomiting. These are not all the possible side effects. Talk to your provider about any side effect that bothers you or does not go away. The FDA-approved brand label advises no more than one dose in 24 hours and no more than eight doses per month.

Before you start, tell your provider if you:

  • Have high blood pressure, heart disease or risk factors for heart disease
  • Take naltrexone by mouth, or other medicines that need to be absorbed quickly. PT-141 can slow stomach emptying and lower how much of some oral medicines your body absorbs.
  • Are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding
